- 5 cups fine sand Use fine sand for the best texture.
- 2 cups cornstarch
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup clear dish soap Use a gentle dish soap.
- food coloring (optional) Add for customizable colors.
Instructions
Preparation
- In a large mixing bowl, mix the fine sand and cornstarch together until thoroughly combined.
- In a separate bowl, combine the water and dish soap. If using food coloring, mix it into the water and soap now.
- Slowly pour the liquid mixture into the dry ingredients while stirring continuously.
- Once mixed, knead the sand with your hands for a couple of minutes.
- Store your kinetic sand in an airtight container.
Notes
Experiment with different food colorings or add glitter for sparkle. For a less sticky version, reduce the amount of dish soap.
