  • 1-2 tablespoons Baking soda Essential for the reaction.
  • 1/4 cup Vinegar Can swap with lemon juice for a different scent.

  • Plastic cups or containers For mixing the ingredients.
  • Spoon or stir stick For mixing the ingredients.
  • Tray or workspace for mess To catch any overflow during the eruption.
  • Safety goggles Optional for fun.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Lay down newspaper or a tray to catch any overflow.
  • Gather all materials within reach.

Mixing

  • In a cup, combine 1-2 tablespoons of Kool-Aid powder with a small amount of water to make a paste.
  • Mix it until well-blended.
  • Add 1-2 tablespoons of baking soda to the Kool-Aid mixture.
  • Stir thoroughly and notice how the mixture starts to bubble slightly.

Eruption Setup

  • In a separate cup, pour about 1/4 cup of vinegar, which should smell tangy.

Create the Fireworks Eruption

  • Quickly pour the Kool-Aid and baking soda mixture into the vinegar.
  • Step back and enjoy the colorful eruption as the fizzing and bubbling resembles fireworks.

Notes

Experiment with different Kool-Aid colors for multi-colored eruptions and sprinkle edible glitter for a sparkling effect.
