  • 1 cup water Heat until simmering.
  • 1 packet Kool-Aid (your choice of flavor) Experiment with different flavors.

  • Clothespins or string To support the skewers.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a saucepan, heat the water on medium until it simmers but doesn’t boil.
  • Gradually add 2 cups of granulated sugar while stirring until it fully dissolves.
  • Stir in one packet of Kool-Aid and mix well.

Cooling and Transferring

  • Remove the mixture from heat and let it cool slightly.
  • Carefully pour the sugar solution into glass jars or cups, filling them about halfway.

Preparing the Skewers

  • Dip the wooden skewers in the solution, coating them with sugar, then let them dry for about 10 minutes.
  • Use clothespins or string to suspend the skewers in the jars without touching the bottom.

Observation

  • Place the jars in a cool, undisturbed area for 3-7 days to allow crystals to form.
  • Check the jars daily to observe the growth of crystals.

Notes

For smaller or larger crystals, adjust the sugar amount. Try combining Kool-Aid flavors for unique results. Store finished candy in an airtight container.
