- 1 piece Mason jar (any size) Make sure it's clean.
- 1 piece White lace or cotton lace Easy to find at craft stores.
- 1 unit Mod Podge or similar decoupage glue Can substitute with white glue.
- 1 unit Paintbrush For applying glue.
- 1 pair Scissors For cutting the lace.
- 1 unit Tea light or LED candle LED is recommended for safety.
- 1 piece Twine or ribbon Optional, for decorative touches.
- 1 piece Old newspaper or disposable tablecloth To cover your work surface.
Instructions
Preparation
- Begin by selecting your lace. Cut a piece long enough to wrap around your mason jar, allowing for some overlap.
- Clean the surface of the mason jar and let it dry completely.
Assembly
- Apply a thin layer of Mod Podge around the area where the lace will go using a paintbrush.
- Place the lace onto the glue and softly press it down, ensuring no air bubbles.
- Continue adding lace around the jar, brushing more glue between each piece.
- Once the lace is completely wrapped, apply another layer of Mod Podge over the top to secure it.
- Let your creation dry for at least an hour.
- After it has dried, carefully place a tea light or an LED candle inside the jar.
Notes
Store the lantern in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Dust it gently with a soft cloth if needed. You can also re-dress it with new lace or paint for a fresh look.
