  • 1 cup or jar Clear cup or jar (preferably tall and transparent)
  • 1 cup Sugar (granulated)
  • 1 cup Water Separate into portions for mixing
  • as needed Food coloring (various colors)
  • 1 Spoon or stirrer For mixing solutions
  • 1 Funnel (optional) Helpful for layering

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In separate containers, mix different amounts of sugar with water. For example: 1 tablespoon sugar for the lightest solution, 2 tablespoons for medium, and 3 tablespoons for the heaviest solution.
  • Stir each solution thoroughly until all sugar is dissolved.

Coloring

  • Add a few drops of food coloring to each sugar solution and stir until vibrant.

Layering

  • Using a funnel, pour the lightest colored solution into your clear cup.
  • Carefully pour the medium-colored solution over the back of a spoon to avoid mixing.
  • Add the heaviest colored solution using the same spoon technique.

Enjoying

  • Observe the layers of colored sugar water and enjoy the beautiful effect!
  • Gently swirl the jar to see the colors mix, then watch them settle again.

Notes

Customize colors and layer thickness. Consider adding glitter or small items in each layer for visual effects.
