Preparation

  • Clear a flat surface and gather all your materials. Wear an apron to protect your clothes from spills.

Cooking

  • In a heatproof container, combine 1 cup of water with 1 tablespoon of agar-agar powder. Whisk until the agar-agar is dissolved.
  • Place the container in a microwave for about 2 minutes or on the stove over medium heat, stirring every 30 seconds until fully dissolved.
  • Once dissolved, carefully stir in 1/2 cup of liquid soap. Mix gently to avoid bubbles.
  • Add your chosen essential oils or fragrance oils. If desired, add food coloring and mix well for even distribution.
  • Pour the jelly mixture into silicone molds, leaving a little space at the top for expansion.
  • Place the molds in the refrigerator for about 1-2 hours until the jellies are firm.
  • Once set, gently pop the jellies out of the molds and store in an airtight container until ready to use.

Notes

For variations, experiment with different essential oils, mix food colors for a tie-dye effect, and consider adding dried flowers or glitter. Popping candy can be added for an exciting fizz when they hit the water.
