Ingredients

  • 1 cup baking soda
  • 1/2 cup white vinegar Gradually added to create reaction

  • optional corn syrup For a glossy finish on the rocks

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Lay down wax paper or a silicone mat on your baking tray to catch any spills.
  • Gather all your materials to ensure you have everything you need.

Mixing the Base

  • In a mixing bowl, add 1 cup of baking soda.
  • Gradually add 1/2 cup of white vinegar. Watch the reaction as the mixture fizzes and bubbles.

Adding Color

  • Once the fizzing stops, choose your food coloring and add a few drops to the mixture before stirring.

Forming the Rocks

  • Using your hands (gloves recommended), scoop the mixture and shape it into small rocks or pebbles.
  • Place the shaped rocks onto the prepared baking tray.

Drying the Rocks

  • Let the rocks sit at room temperature for 24 hours to harden.
  • After this, they can be further coated with corn syrup for a gleaming finish.

Notes

Customize colors and shapes of your rocks and add glitter for a magical touch! Store them in a dry place away from direct sunlight.
