Ingredients
  

Materials

  • 6 pieces Clean eggshells (halved) Rinse thoroughly and dry completely.
  • 1 cup Epsom salt This will be used to create the geode crystal solution.
  • various drops Food coloring Choose your favorite colors.
  • 1 cup Water Hot water for mixing with Epsom salt.
  • 2 pieces Small bowls For mixing solutions.
  • 1 piece Toothpick or brush For applying color.
  • 1 piece Baking sheet For drying the geodes.

Preparation

  • Rinse the eggs thoroughly and let them dry completely.
  • Place the cleaned eggshell halves on a baking sheet, with the openings facing up.

Create the Geode Crystal Solution

  • In small bowls, combine 1 cup of hot water with 1 to 2 tablespoons of Epsom salt.
  • Add a few drops of food coloring to each bowl, mixing colors for unique shades.

Fill the Eggshells

  • Carefully pour the colored solution into each eggshell half, filling them about halfway.
  • Allow the eggshells to sit for at least 24 hours in a cool, undisturbed place.

Finishing Touches

  • After crystallization, gently remove the geodes from the baking sheet and let them dry completely.
  • Showcase your beautiful geodes on a windowsill, use them for decorating, or give them as gifts.

Notes

Experiment with different food coloring combinations and try using other soluble salts for different textures. Adding glitter can enhance the magical look of your geodes.
