Materials for Ornaments

  • 1 set Clear acrylic baubles (plastic or glass) These are the main medium for your marbling.
  • various colors Acrylic paint in various colors Choose colors that reflect your holiday theme.
  • optional Marbling medium Optional, but enhances the marbling effects.
  • 1 container A shallow container (for water) This will be used for dipping the baubles.
  • 1 unit Toothpicks or stirring sticks For swirling paint.
  • 1 pair Gloves To keep your hands clean during the process.
  • 1 roll Paper towels To dry the baubles.
  • 1 length String or ribbon For hanging the ornaments.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Clear a flat surface and cover it with a protective layer to catch any spills.
  • Gather all your materials and put on gloves to keep your hands clean.

Setting Up

  • Fill your shallow container with water, leaving enough space for the bauble.

Mixing Paints

  • Pour a small amount of acrylic paint directly onto the water’s surface.
  • Use a toothpick or stirring stick to gently swirl the colors, creating a marbled pattern.

Dipping Baubles

  • Carefully immerse the bauble into the water, ensuring that the paint adheres to the surface.
  • Rotate the bauble to cover it evenly in paint.

Drying

  • Lift the bauble out of the water and place it on paper towels to dry.
  • Allow the paint to set completely before handling further.

Finishing Touch

  • Once dry, thread your string or ribbon through the top of the bauble for hanging.

Notes

Experiment with different color combinations, and consider adding glitter for extra sparkle. Store your ornaments carefully to prevent damage.
