Ingredients

Materials Needed

  • 5-10 pieces Coffee filters (natural or dyed) You can use plain or dyed filters for different effects.
  • 1 piece Craft scissors
  • 1 piece Green floral wire or pipe cleaners This will hold the flower together.
  • 1 stick Glue stick or soft craft glue To secure the petals.
  • optional Watercolor paints or food coloring for dyeing For those wanting to add color to the filters.
  • optional Markers or embellishments For further decoration.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Lay out your coffee filters and decide whether to dye them. If dyeing, mix colors to your liking.
  • Gently dip the edges of the filters into the dye, allowing the colors to blend.
  • If using white filters, stack two or three filters together.
  • Fold the stacked filters in half twice, creating a triangle shape, and round the edges slightly with scissors to form petal shapes.

Assembling the Flowers

  • Unfold the filters gently to reveal the petal shapes.
  • Gather the base of the flower and pinch it together.
  • Use floral wire or a pipe cleaner to wrap around the base, securing it.
  • Apply glue between the layers of petals to keep them in place.
  • Repeat the process to create additional flowers, experimenting with colors and sizes.

Finishing Touches

  • Once your flowers are complete, display them in a vase or on a windowsill.
  • Enjoy the flowers as a part of your mindfulness practices or as gifts for loved ones.

Notes

To store the flowers, lay them flat in a box with tissue paper between each one. They can be recolored in new seasons for a fresh look.
