Ingredients
  

Materials

  • 1 set Clear mason jar lids Used as the base for the suncatcher.
  • various sheets Colored tissue paper or cellophane Cut into small squares or shapes.
  • 1 each Scissors For cutting tissue paper.
  • 1 bottle Mod Podge or white school glue For adhering tissue paper.
  • 1 each Foam brush or paintbrush For applying the glue.
  • 1 piece Fishing line or strong string For hanging the suncatcher.
  • optional various Glitter, beads, or other decorative items To enhance the design.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Clear a flat surface and lay down newspaper or a protective cloth to catch any glue spills.
  • Use scissors to cut the colored tissue paper or cellophane into small squares or shapes.

Assembly

  • Using a foam brush or paintbrush, apply a thin layer of Mod Podge or glue to the inside of the mason jar lid.
  • Place the tissue paper squares onto the glue-covered lid. Overlap them for a beautiful stained glass effect, ensuring no spaces are left uncovered.
  • Once all pieces are in place, gently brush another layer of glue over the top to seal them in. Allow it to dry completely.

Finishing Touches

  • Once dry, attach a piece of fishing line or string to the lid, ensuring it’s securely tied.
  • Hang your suncatcher in a sunny window where it can catch the light, dance, and glow!

Notes

Experiment with different shapes and colors for the tissue paper. Consider combining this project with a nature walk to find decorative elements like leaves or flowers.
