Ingredients

Materials

  • 1 cup Green and clear plastic beads Or other colors for custom designs.
  • 1 piece Shamrock-shaped silicone mold For forming the suncatchers.
  • 1 piece Oven-safe baking tray To hold the silicone mold while baking.
  • 1 sheet Parchment paper To line the baking tray.
  • 1 pair Oven mitts To safely handle hot trays.
  • 1 piece Cooling rack For cooling the melted suncatchers.
  • 1 length Transparent fishing line Optional for hanging the suncatcher.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Take the shamrock-shaped silicone mold and begin filling it with green and clear beads, distributing them evenly. Make creative patterns as desired.

Baking

  • Line a baking tray with parchment paper, and place the filled silicone mold on top.
  • Carefully place the tray in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 15-20 minutes. Watch closely as the beads start to melt and fuse together.

Cooling and Removing

  • Once melted, remove the tray from the oven using oven mitts and place the mold on a cooling rack. Let it cool completely, which may take 30 minutes to an hour.
  • Once cooled, gently flex the silicone mold to pop out your beautiful melted shamrock suncatcher.

Hanging

  • If desired, thread a piece of fishing line through the top to hang your suncatcher in a sunny window.

Notes

For additional creativity and fun, swap bead colors for different seasons or holidays, try out different shapes, and consider adding glitter or metallic beads for extra sparkle.
