Preparation

  • Begin by pouring the 4 cups of all-purpose flour into the mixing bowl.
  • Slowly add the 1 cup of vegetable oil, allowing it to mix lightly with your spoon.
  • If you choose to add color, introduce the food coloring now, a drop or two at a time.
  • Use your hands to further mix the ingredients until it feels fine yet moldable.
  • Once you achieve your desired texture, play with it! Squeeze it, mold it, or let it flow through your fingers.
  • Transfer the Moon Sand into your chosen containers and close the lids gently.

Notes

Store in airtight containers. If it gets dry, add a tiny bit of oil to rejuvenate it. Consider experimenting with textures by adding cornstarch or different natural dyes.
