Ingredients
  

Materials for Craft

  • 1 container Clear glass or plastic container (like a jar or cup) Make sure it's clean and dry before starting.
  • 1 cup Water Fill the container about halfway.
  • as needed Neon food coloring (various colors) Several drops, adjust to desired brightness.
  • as needed Vegetable oil or any clear oil Fill the container almost to the top.
  • 1 Eye dropper or small spoon For adding the coloring to the oil.
  • optional Glitter For added sparkle.

Preparation

  • Choose a clear glass or plastic container for your experiment.
  • Make sure it’s clean and dry before starting.

Adding Water and Color

  • Fill the container about halfway with water.
  • Add several drops of neon food coloring to the water.
  • Stir gently to distribute the color evenly.

Preparing the Oil

  • Carefully pour vegetable oil into the container, filling it almost to the top.
  • Observe how the oil floats on top of the colored water.

Creating the Explosion

  • Using an eye dropper or spoon, add more drops of neon food coloring directly into the oil.
  • Watch as the colors slowly seep down and mix with the water, creating beautiful patterns.

Enjoying the Show

  • Allow the mixture to sit and enjoy the mesmerizing effect as the colors swirl and blend.
  • Optional: Sprinkle a bit of glitter on top for an extra visual delight.
