  • 1-2 packs Glitter (multiple colors) Use various colors for added sparkle.
  • 1 pack Metallic confetti
  • 1-2 items New Year-themed decorations Mini party hats, noise makers, etc.
  • 3-5 items Various scoops and pouring tools Measuring cups, spoons, etc.
  • 2-3 items Sparkly rubber balls or beads For added textures.
  • 1 pack Tinsel or foil strips
  • a few drops Essential oils Optional for added scent (like peppermint or citrus).

Preparation

  • Pour the dried rice or pasta into the bottom of your plastic bin to serve as the sensory base.
  • Sprinkle a generous amount of glitter over the dried rice or pasta and mix everything with your hands to encourage sensory exploration.
  • Scatter the metallic confetti and New Year-themed decorations throughout the bin.
  • Toss in sparkly rubber balls or beads to add varied textures.
  • Provide various scoops and pouring tools for children to enhance creative play.
  • If using, drop a few drops of essential oils in the bin for sensory scent enhancement.
