Instructions

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of white school glue with 1 cup of water. Stir thoroughly until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
  • Add a few drops of food coloring to achieve your desired color. If using, sprinkle a little glitter for that extra sparkle!
  • Add 1 teaspoon of baking soda to the mixture and stir again to help thicken the slime.
  • Gradually add 2-3 tablespoons of contact lens solution while stirring. Feel the mixture starting to clump; this is when slime magic begins!
  • Once it forms into a ball, take the slime out and knead it with your hands. If the slime is too sticky, add a little more contact lens solution.
  • Store your New Year’s slime in an airtight container to keep it fresh for future play.

Notes

Make it festive by using gold and silver food coloring and adding star-shaped glitter. You can swap contact lens solution for a homemade slime activator using baking soda and vinegar or use liquid laundry detergent if needed. Adjust proportions as required.
