Ingredients
  

For the Ice

  • 2 cups Water
  • 1 small containers Clear plastic containers (like ice trays or small cups) Choose as many as needed for different ice blocks.
  • 1 assorted Small ocean-themed toys (e.g., plastic sea creatures, shells) As many toys as desired to include in the ice.
  • few drops Food coloring (blue and green recommended) To mimic ocean hues.
  • optional Salt For added melting effect.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Choose your clear plastic containers.
  • Add small ocean-themed toys to each container.
  • Fill the containers with water, leaving space at the top for the toys.
  • Add a few drops of food coloring to mimic ocean hues.

Freezing

  • Carefully transfer the containers to the freezer.
  • Let them freeze for several hours, or overnight for best results.

Melting Station Setup

  • Once frozen, remove the ice blocks from the containers.
  • Place the ice blocks on a baking sheet or shallow tray.
  • Sprinkle a bit of salt on top to speed up the melting process, if desired.

Enjoying the Activity

  • Watch as the ice melts, revealing the hidden treasures inside!
  • Encourage kids to touch the ice and describe how it feels.
  • Use spoons or syringes to add warm water to the ice and speed up melting.

Notes

Customize colors by layering different colored waters, or swap materials with other small toys. You can add scents using essential oils or include natural materials for a more earthy feel. Extra ice can be refrozen for future use.
