Ingredients
Dry Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup salt
- 2 tablespoons cream of tartar
Wet Ingredients
- 2 cups water
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

- essential oils (e.g., coconut or ocean breeze for scent)
Instructions
Preparation
- In a mixing bowl, mix together 2 cups flour, 1 cup salt, and 2 tablespoons cream of tartar.
- In a separate bowl, blend 2 cups water, 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, and your chosen food coloring. Stir until the color combines evenly with the liquid.
- Pour the wet mixture into the bowl of dry ingredients while stirring continuously.
- Transfer the mixture to a saucepan over medium heat.
- Stir constantly for about 3-5 minutes until the dough pulls away from the sides of the pan and forms a cohesive ball.
- Remove the dough from the pan and let it cool slightly.
- Once it’s safe to handle, knead the dough for a minute or two until it’s smooth.
- Add a few drops of essential oil and knead again to incorporate the scent.
- Place the playdough in an airtight container to keep it fresh for longer.
