Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup salt
  • 2 tablespoons cream of tartar

Wet Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • to taste food coloring (blue, green, and any other desired colors) Customize your ocean colors.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a large pot, combine 2 cups of flour, 1 cup of salt, and 2 tablespoons of cream of tartar. Stir well to ensure everything is evenly mixed.

Mix Wet Ingredients

  • In a separate bowl, mix 2 cups of water and 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil. Add food coloring to the water mixture, combining until you achieve your desired ocean colors.

Cook Playdough

  • Pour the wet mixture into the pot with dry ingredients. Cook over medium heat, stirring continuously.
  • Watch as the mixture thickens and begins to form a ball, which will take about 3-5 minutes.

Knead the Dough

  • Once it forms a ball, remove it from the heat and allow it to cool for a few minutes. Knead the dough by hand until it reaches a smooth consistency.

Add Sensory Elements

  • If desired, incorporate any optional sensory items like seashells or glitter into the dough for added fun.

Notes

Color Customization: Mix different food coloring to create shades of turquoise or deep blue. Scent Addition: Add a few drops of essential oils (like coconut or ocean breeze) to enhance the sensory experience. Texture Variation: Incorporate sand or small beads for a gritty touch reminiscent of the beach.
