  • 1 bottle Empty clear glass bottle or jar with a lid Ensure it is clean and dry.
  • 3 drops Food coloring (red, orange, yellow) For creating the flame colors.
  • 1 cup Water Used for creating colored layers.
  • 1 cup Oil (vegetable or mineral oil) Oil should float on the water.
  • 1 piece Funnel or small pouring tool For easier pouring of liquids.
  • optional Small decorations (glitter, small paper flames) Add for extra flair.

Preparation

  • Start with a clean, clear glass bottle. Remove any labels and ensure it's completely dry.

Creating the Flame Layers

  • Using a funnel, pour a small amount of water into the bottom of the bottle.
  • Add a few drops of red food coloring to the water and swirl to mix.

Adding Oil

  • Slowly pour oil into the bottle until it’s nearly full, leaving some space at the top. The oil should float on the water.

Adding More Colors

  • In a separate cup, prepare colored water by mixing water with orange and yellow food coloring.
  • Using the funnel, gently pour the orange water followed by the yellow water into the bottle, creating layered effects.

Final Touches

  • If desired, add glitter or small paper flames at the top of the bottle for extra flair.
  • Cap the bottle securely with its lid, and your Olympic flame in a bottle is ready to shine!

Notes

Experiment with different shades and combinations of colors. Use various bottle shapes or sizes for unique designs. Pour liquids slowly to maintain distinct layers.
