Ingredients

Craft Materials

  • 1 piece paper plate
  • yellow paint or yellow construction paper For the sun face
  • 1 piece orange construction paper For the sun rays
  • 1 piece scissors For cutting the paper
  • 1 piece glue stick or craft glue
  • 1 piece black marker or googly eyes For facial features
  • optional: glitter or stickers For embellishment

Instructions

Preparation

  • Lay out your materials on a clean workspace.
  • If using paint, spread a layer of yellow paint evenly over the paper plate. If using construction paper, cut a circle from yellow paper and glue it to the plate.

Creating the Rays

  • Cut strips of orange construction paper, each around 1 inch wide.
  • Glue these strips around the edges of the plate, leaving gaps between them. This represents the sun's rays.

Adding Facial Features

  • Use a black marker to draw eyes, a nose, and a smile on the yellow circle.
  • For added fun, use googly eyes instead of drawing them.

Adding Some Sparkle

  • If desired, sprinkle some glitter over the wet paint for a sparkling effect, or add stickers to enhance your sunshine.

Let It Dry

  • Allow your creation to dry fully before displaying it.

Notes

Customize the face by experimenting with different expressions. You can also swap materials or use different colors for creativity. For a festive touch, create multiple sunshines and string them together.
