Mixing the Ingredients

  • Start by combining the flour and salt in a mixing bowl. Enjoy the texture.
  • Gradually stir in the warm water until a soft dough forms.
  • Knead the dough with your hands for about five minutes until smooth and pliable.

Preparing the Dough

  • Divide the dough into smaller portions and add food coloring if desired.
  • Roll out the dough to about half an inch thick on a clean surface.
  • Press your hand firmly into the dough to create an imprint.
  • Use a cookie cutter for additional shapes if desired.

Drying and Decorating

  • Carefully transfer the imprints to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Allow them to dry at room temperature for 24 to 48 hours until hard.
  • Once dry, paint or decorate your ornament with pastel acrylic paint.
  • Optionally, seal the ornament with a clear glaze.

Notes

Store the finished ornament in an airtight container or cloth pouch to protect from moisture. For long-lasting color, reapply sealant as needed.
