Materials

  • 1 selection A selection of seashells Easily found at craft stores or collected from the beach
  • 1 set Pastel-colored acrylic paints Choose colors that resonate with you
  • 1 piece A sturdy piece of driftwood or wooden dowel for the base
  • 1 length Fishing line or strong string For hanging the shells
  • 1 tool Hot glue gun or strong adhesive For secure attachment
  • 1 scissors Scissors for trimming string
  • optional Decorative beads To add more color and texture

Instructions

Preparation

  • Begin by painting your seashells. Choose pastel colors and coat the surfaces evenly, letting the paint dry fully.
  • While the shells are drying, take your driftwood or wooden dowel to determine the length of your chime.
  • Cut lengths of fishing line or string in varying sizes for a visually pleasing cascade of shells.

Assembly

  • Once your shells are dry, use a hot glue gun to attach the shells to the strings.
  • Tie the other ends of the strings to the driftwood, arranging the shells for free movement.
  • Find a cozy spot to hang your wind chime where it can sway with the gentle winds.
  • Stand back and appreciate your work, enjoying the light dancing on the pastel colors.

Notes

Store your wind chime by removing it from its hanging spot and placing it in a soft fabric bag or box. You can refresh it by repainting or adding new shells at any time.
