  • 5 pieces Small plastic penguin figurines Any small animals can be used including penguins.
  • 1 tray A shallow tray or baking dish Ensure it's large enough for the skating area.
  • 2 cups Water Hot water for mixing with gelatin.
  • 1 spoon Spoon for mixing A standard kitchen spoon will work.
  • optional Small decorations (glitter, fake snow, mini trees) For enhancing the winter wonderland scene.

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, dissolve the blue gelatin in hot water according to package instructions. Stir gently to ensure there are no lumps.
  • Pour the blue gelatin mixture into a shallow tray or baking dish.
  • Let it sit at room temperature or refrigerate until fully set (usually 2-4 hours).

Assembly

  • Once the gelatin is set, gently place the small plastic penguin figurines onto the surface.
  • Encourage children to move the penguins around and watch how they slide!

Enhancement (Optional)

  • Add decorations like glitter, fake snow, or mini trees to create a winter wonderland scene.
  • Engage kids in creative play by inventing stories about their penguins and the icy world they’ve created.
