  • 4-5 pieces Pipe cleaners (various colors) For forming the body and antennas

  • 1 bottle Glue Optional, for attaching googly eyes

Instructions

Crafting Steps

  • Gather Your Materials: Make sure you have all your materials within reach to create without interruptions.
  • Create the Body: Take 4 to 5 pipe cleaners and twist them together in the center, leaving some length at each end for the caterpillar's antennas. Adjust the twists to shape a rounded body.
  • Form Antennas: Curl the two ends of the pipe cleaners upwards to make caterpillar antennas. Twist the ends into little spirals for added fun!
  • Add Eyes: Use a dot of glue, if desired, to attach googly eyes to the front of the caterpillar’s body. Substitute with cut-out paper or additional pom-poms if needed.
  • Customize: Decorate your caterpillar using extra pipe cleaners or craft pom-poms for legs. Experiment with different colors and patterns to make each caterpillar unique.

Notes

For added fun, swap out pipe cleaners for fuzzy yarn or ribbon, use markers to draw patterns before assembling, and consider making diverse sizes and colors for display. Attach a string to create a hanging mobile.
