Ingredients
  

Materials Needed

  • 1 bottle Empty plastic bottles (clear or colored) Any clean plastic beverage bottle.
  • 1 set Acrylic paints
  • 1 each Paintbrushes Use various sizes.
  • 1 pair Scissors For cutting wing shapes.
  • 1 each Craft wire or pipe cleaners For making antennae.
  • 1 set Googly eyes
  • 1 each Hot glue gun (with glue sticks) Use under adult supervision.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Clean the bottles by removing labels and rinsing thoroughly.
  • Cut wide oval shapes for the wings from the sides of the bottles.

Painting the Dragonflies

  • Apply a layer of acrylic paint to the wings and body, choosing bright colors.
  • After the base coat dries, add details like stripes or polka dots using a smaller brush.

Assembling the Dragonflies

  • Use a hot glue gun to attach the wings to the top of the bottle and press to secure.
  • Bend craft wire or pipe cleaners into shapes and attach them to the head with glue.

Final Touches

  • Glue the googly eyes onto the front of the bottle for a playful expression.
  • Optionally sprinkle glitter or add additional decorations.

Notes

Experiment with colors and wing shapes; create nature-inspired designs for a unique touch. You can also use string for hanging your dragonflies indoors or outdoors.
