Ingredients
  

Materials

  • Fresh flowers Fresh flowers (such as daisies, pansies, or lavender) Ensure flowers are pesticide-free.
  • 1 Heavy books or a flower press To press the flowers.
  • 2 sheets Parchment paper or wax paper For placing the flowers between.
  • 1 Scissors To cut the cardstock.
  • 1 bottle Clear craft glue To adhere the flowers.
  • 1 sheet Cardstock or thick paper (for the bookmark base) Cut to desired size.
  • Optional Ribbon or twine For a decorative touch.
  • Optional Hole punch To create a hole for ribbon or twine.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Choose flat flowers with good color retention and pick them during dry weather.
  • Press the flowers by placing them between parchment or wax paper and stacking them in a heavy book or using a flower press. Leave for 1-2 weeks.
  • Cut the cardstock or thick paper to the desired bookmark size, rounding the corners if desired.

Assembly

  • Carefully remove the dried flowers from the press and arrange them on one side of the bookmark.
  • Use clear craft glue to attach the flowers, ensuring they are pressed well onto the surface.
  • To protect the bookmark, seal it with a clear adhesive film or laminate it. Optionally, use a hole punch to create a hole at the top.
  • Thread a piece of ribbon or twine through the hole for a decorative finish.

Notes

Experiment with different flower types, colors, and embellishments like beads or glitter. Make themed bookmarks for special occasions.
