Preparation

  • Choose small, flat flowers for easy pressing.
  • Arrange the flowers between two sheets of parchment paper.
  • Place the parchment sandwich between the pages of heavy books to apply even pressure.
  • Leave for about 1-2 weeks until fully dried.

Create the Butterfly Shape

  • On cardstock, draw or print a butterfly outline.
  • Carefully cut along the outline to create your butterfly template.

Assemble the Butterfly

  • Once the flowers are dried, arrange them on your butterfly template.
  • Consider overlapping petals for a fuller look.
  • Use craft glue to attach each flower securely to the cardstock.

Final Touches

  • Use a fine brush or marker to outline the butterfly's wings or add antennae.
  • Once dried, either frame your butterfly or simply display it on a stand.

Notes

Experiment with colors and types of flowers. Consider using dried flowers if fresh ones are unavailable.
