Step-by-Step Directions

  • Start by collecting your favorite flowers, focusing on their colors and shapes.
  • Prepare to press the flowers by laying them flat between the pages of a heavy book or using a flower press, sealing them with a weight on top.
  • Leave the flowers to press for a couple of days to allow them to dry.
  • Once dried, carefully remove them from the book, ensuring they feel crisp.
  • Choose a paper plate; a colored plate can add warmth to the suncatcher.
  • Arrange the pressed flowers on the plate until the layout feels balanced.
  • Using a paintbrush, apply the clear adhesive over the flowers and onto the plate.
  • Allow the glue to dry fully before attaching any hanging elements.
  • Find a bright spot to hang your suncatcher and enjoy how the light filters through.

Notes

To maintain your suncatcher, wipe dust gently with a dry cloth and avoid using water. You can also change its hanging position with the seasons.
