Pringle Lids Suncatchers
Transform recycled Pringle lids into colorful suncatchers that brighten up your space with beautiful light patterns.
Ingredients
Materials Needed
- 1 pieces Clean Pringle lids (or similar circular plastic lids) Make sure they are clean and dry.
- 1 sheets Clear plastic sheets (like overhead projector sheets) This will act as the base for your designs.
- 1 pack Permanent markers or acrylic paints For drawing or coloring your designs.
- 1 pieces Paintbrushes If using paint.
- 1 pieces Scissors For cutting out your designs.
- 1 pieces String or fishing line For hanging your suncatcher.
- optional Glitter, sequins, or additional embellishments Optional for additional decoration.
Instructions
Preparation
- Clean the Pringle lids thoroughly and dry them. Ensure the lids are clear of any grease or food residue.
Create Your Designs
- Use permanent markers or acrylic paints to draw or color your designs on the clear plastic sheets. Feel free to mix colors, create patterns, or add shapes!
Cut Your Designs
- Once your design is dry, carefully cut around the shapes you’ve created. Leaving a small border can help with attachment to the lids.
Attach the Design
- Apply a thin layer of glue on the inside of the Pringle lid. Place your cut plastic design inside the lid, ensuring it’s secure.
Add Hanging Mechanism
- Punch a small hole at the top of the lid. Thread a piece of string or fishing line through the hole for hanging.
Display Your Suncatcher
- Hang your beautiful suncatcher in a window or any spot where it can catch the light. Step back and enjoy the colorful reflections!
Notes
Experiment with different lid sizes or shapes to add variety. If you don't have clear plastic sheets, consider using old CDs or transparent food containers as a base. For added beauty, incorporate natural elements like pressed flowers or leaves between the layers. Use glow-in-the-dark paint to enhance your suncatchers with nighttime charm.
