Ingredients
  

For the Paint

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • to preference Food coloring (various colors) Customize according to your artistic vision.

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of flour, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 2 teaspoons of baking powder. Whisk until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
  • Gradually incorporate 1 cup of water into the dry mixture, stirring to prevent lumps. Keep stirring until the batter is smooth and has a creamy consistency.
  • Split the mixture into separate bowls based on how many colors you want. Add a few drops of food coloring to each bowl and mix until you achieve the desired shades.
  • If using squeeze bottles or plastic bags, pour the colored paint into them for easy application. If using bags, snip a small corner to create a DIY piping bag.

Creating Art

  • Start painting on paper, cardboard, or canvas. Apply thick layers to achieve a puffy effect, and have fun with different techniques!
  • Let your artwork sit undisturbed to dry completely, which may take a few hours or overnight. The paint will puff up and look textured once dry.

Notes

Experiment with different colors and thickness levels. You can also add glitter or substitute flour with cornstarch for a gluten-free option. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for about a week, best used fresh.
