Materials

  • 1 cup Baking Soda Essential for crystallization
  • 1/2 cup Water Mix with baking soda
  • 2-3 pieces White Pipe Cleaners Form the tree structure
  • Food Coloring Various colors for customization
  • 1 piece Glass Jar or Container To hold the tree and solution
  • 1 piece String To hang the tree
  • 1 piece Small Bowl For mixing solutions
  • 1 piece Spoon For stirring the mixture

Instructions

Preparation

  • Shape the white pipe cleaners into a tree form. Twist them together to create branches and a trunk, leaving enough space to stand in your container.
  • In a small bowl, combine 1 cup of baking soda with 1/2 cup of water. Stir the mixture until it is well blended.
  • Divide the mixture into separate bowls and add different colors of food coloring into each bowl. Create a rainbow effect by using a variety of colors.
  • Place the tree inside the glass jar or container. Carefully pour the colored solutions over the tree, ensuring even coverage.
  • Leave your tree set for several hours or overnight. As the water evaporates, crystals will begin to form on the branches, creating a beautiful snowy effect.
  • Once the crystals have formed, hang your tree using string, or display it in the container to show off the stunning results.

Notes

Customize colors, use different shapes for the pipe cleaner tree, add glitter for extra sparkle, and experiment with various container shapes and sizes for aesthetics.
