Ingredients
  

Base Ingredients

  • 1 cup Cornstarch Essential for the texture.
  • 1 cup Water

Coloring Ingredients

  • various colors Food coloring Feel free to create color gradients.

Additional Materials

  • as needed pieces Small jars or cups For holding the chalk mixture.
  • 1 piece Plastic wrap To line the baking sheet.
  • as needed pieces Popsicle sticks or skewers For swirling and holding the chalk pops.
  • 1 piece Baking sheet To freeze the jars.

Preparation

  • Line your baking sheet with plastic wrap to catch any spills and simplify cleanup.

Mixing the Chalk Base

  • In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of cornstarch and 1 cup of water. Stir until the mixture is smooth and well-combined.

Coloring the Mixture

  • Divide the mixture into small jars or cups. Add a few drops of food coloring to each jar and mix well.

Layering the Colors

  • Pour the colored mixtures into a larger jar, alternating colors and using a popsicle stick to swirl them for a marbled effect.

Freezing the Chalk Pops

  • Insert the popsicle sticks into the center of each jar and place the baking sheet in the freezer for 4 to 6 hours or until solid.

Enjoying Your Chalk

  • Once frozen, remove the jar from the baking sheet, gently pull out the chalk pop, and get ready to create!

Notes

Customize colors by experimenting with different food coloring combinations. You can substitute silicone molds for jars for fun shapes and add edible glitter for a sparkling effect.
