  • 1 mold Clear plastic heart mold Any size can work
  • 2 cups Epsom salt Alternative to rock salt can also be used
  • 1 cup Boiling water Carefully boil before use
  • various drops Food coloring Use multiple colors for a vibrant effect
  • optional Glitter Adds extra sparkle if desired
  • 1 Mixing bowl For mixing the Epsom salt and water
  • 1 Spoon for mixing
  • 1 Dropper or small container For adding food coloring
  • 1 Wax paper or parchment For drying the heart

Instructions
 

Prepare Your Mixture

  • Boil 1 cup of water and be cautious!
  • In a bowl, combine 2 cups of Epsom salt with the boiling water and stir until dissolved.

Add Colors

  • Split the mixture into separate bowls based on how many colors you want to use.
  • Add a few drops of food coloring to each bowl, stirring well for an even color.

Pour into Heart Mold

  • Carefully pour the colored mixtures into the plastic heart mold.
  • Layer them for a striped effect or mix them for a swirly look.
  • If using glitter, sprinkle it on top before it sets.

Let It Set

  • Allow the heart to dry for at least 24 hours.

Unmold and Enjoy

  • Carefully remove the heart from the mold after it has dried.

Consider size variations, mixing different salts for unique textures, and adding themes for holidays.
