  • 4 tablespoons Baking soda Add a few tablespoons of baking soda to each container.
  • 2-3 drops Food coloring (various colors) Add different colors for vibrancy.
  • 1 cup Vinegar Any type of vinegar works; apple cider adds scent.

Preparation

  • Lay down a tray or plastic sheet to catch any spills and keep your working area clean.
  • In each container, add a few tablespoons of baking soda.
  • Using food coloring, drop 2-3 drops of different colors into each container.
  • Slowly pour vinegar into each container.
  • Watch as bubbles and colors erupt from the baking soda, creating a rainbow fountain effect!
  • Notice how the colors mix and flow. You can even take notes on the effects and discuss the chemical reaction happening.

Notes

Try different container sizes for varied fountain heights. Consider adding glitter for an extra magical touch! Use flavored vinegar for a fun aroma twist.
