Dough Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour Recommended for best texture
  • 1 cup vegetable oil For moisture and texture
  • 1 cup water To blend with color
  • 1 cup salt To add consistency
  • 2 tsp cream of tartar Helps with texture
  • 2-3 tsp neon food coloring (various colors) For vibrant colors and glow effect
  • 1 unit black light Optional for glow effects

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, vegetable oil, and cream of tartar. Mix the dry ingredients well.
  • In a separate bowl, blend the water with your chosen food coloring.
  • Gradually pour the colored water into the dry ingredients while stirring continuously to avoid lumps.

Cooking

  • Pour the mixture into a saucepan over medium heat.
  • Stir consistently until the dough begins to thicken and pull away from the sides of the pan, about 3–5 minutes.

Kneading

  • Once thickened, transfer the dough onto a clean surface. Allow it to cool slightly, then knead it with your hands until it reaches a smooth consistency.

Coloring

  • Divide the dough into small sections. Add different food coloring to each section and knead until the color is well combined.
  • Mix colors for a marbled effect if desired.

Storage

  • Store the Rainbow Glow Moon Dough in an airtight container to keep it soft and fresh.

Notes

Customize scents by adding essential oils and experiment with different shades by adjusting the food coloring. You can also mix in glitter before storing for extra sparkle.
