Preparation

  • Find a clean, flat surface where you can mix ingredients.
  • Lay down a silicone mat or parchment paper for easy cleanup.

Mixing Dry Ingredients

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and cream of tartar.
  • Stir well to ensure all dry ingredients are evenly mixed.

Mixing Wet Ingredients

  • In a separate bowl, mix the water and vegetable oil.
  • Gradually pour the wet mixture into the dry mixture.

Cooking

  • Transfer the combined mixture to a saucepan.
  • Cook on medium heat, stirring continuously until the mixture thickens and forms a ball.

Coloring and Scenting

  • Once the dough has formed, remove it from heat.
  • Divide the dough into sections and knead food coloring into each portion until you achieve your desired shades.
  • If using, add a few drops of essential oils for fragrance.

Cooling and Storing

  • Allow the Rainbow Magic Mass to cool completely.
  • Store in an airtight container to keep it fresh for future play.
