Prepare Your Workspace

  • Clear a flat surface to ensure your workspace is clean and dry.
  • Gather all materials, having everything within reach for smooth crafting.

Create the Sugar Solution

  • In a saucepan, combine 1 cup of granulated sugar and 1/4 cup of water.
  • Place over medium heat and stir gently until the sugar is fully dissolved.

Add Color and Flavor

  • Divide the mixture into separate bowls (one for each color you want).
  • Add a few drops of food coloring and desired flavoring to each bowl. Stir well to combine.

Incorporate Baking Soda

  • Add 1/2 tsp of baking soda to each bowl and mix. This will cause a fizzing reaction!

Molding the Sugar

  • Pour each colored mixture into molds or onto parchment paper.
  • Layer the colors for a rainbow effect, or keep them separate for individual colors.

Let it Set

  • Allow the mixtures to cool and harden for several hours or overnight.
  • Once fully set, pop them out of molds or break them into pieces.

Notes

Swap colors, experiment with flavor extracts, and use different molds for interesting shapes. Store in an airtight container for 1-2 weeks.
