Ingredients
  

For the Rainbow Tornado

  • 1 bottle Clear plastic or glass bottle with a tight-sealing lid Ensure the bottle is clean and dry.
  • 2/3 full Water Use room temperature water.
  • 5 drops Food coloring (red, blue, green, yellow, and purple) Customize with your chosen colors.
  • 1 tablespoon Baking soda
  • 3-4 tablespoons White vinegar
  • to taste Glitter (optional) For extra sparkle.
  • 1 each Funnel (optional) For easy pouring.
  • 1 each Measuring spoons For measurement accuracy.

Preparation

  • Clean and dry your bottle thoroughly, leaving some space at the top for reactions.

Creating the Tornado

  • Fill your bottle about 2/3 full with room temperature water.
  • Using the funnel, add a few drops of your chosen food coloring and swirl gently to see the colors mix.
  • Add 1 tablespoon of baking soda directly to the water and observe the fizz and bubbling that begins to form.
  • Slowly pour 3-4 tablespoons of vinegar into the bottle and watch as the mixture bubbles vigorously and creates a tornado effect.
  • For added magic, sprinkle in some glitter and replace the lid tightly to maintain the effect for as long as possible.

Notes

Experiment with different color combinations and layers for unique effects. A few drops of essential oils can be added for fragrance.
