  • 1 cup White vinegar Used with food coloring for the eruption.
  • 4 drops Food coloring (red, blue, yellow, and green) Customize the colors for the eruption.
  • 1 optional Dish soap Add for foamy eruptions.

For setup and containment

  • 1 piece Tray or baking sheet To catch any overflow.
  • 2 pieces Plastic squeeze bottles or small cups For mixing vinegar and food coloring.

Preparation

  • Choose a flat surface and place your tray or baking sheet to catch any overflow.
  • Form a small mound with baking soda in the center of the tray.

Mixing Colors

  • In separate small cups or squeeze bottles, mix some vinegar with different food colors.
  • Pour a small amount of dish soap into each cup to create more fizz.

Eruption

  • Pour the colored vinegar over the baking soda mountain.
  • Watch as it fizzes and bubbles, releasing a rainbow of colors!

Experimentation

  • Try combining different colors together to see what new shades emerge.
  • Adjust the ratios of baking soda and vinegar for varied eruptions.

Notes
