  • 1 cup Vegetable oil or baby oil Creates the rain effect.
  • a few drops Blue food coloring Or any color of your choice to simulate rain.
  • optional Glitter or sequins For added sparkle.
  • optional Small plastic figurines Like animals or raindrops to enhance the sensory experience.
  • 1 Funnel For easy pouring.

Preparation

  • Start with a clean, empty plastic bottle and remove any labels.
  • Using a funnel, pour warm water into the bottle, filling it about halfway.

Creating the Rainstorm Effect

  • Slowly pour in vegetable or baby oil until the bottle is almost full, leaving some space at the top.
  • Add a few drops of blue food coloring to simulate rain.
  • If desired, sprinkle in some glitter or sequins for added sparkle.
  • Place any small figurines inside to enhance the sensory experience.

Final Steps

  • Tightly screw on the bottle lid to prevent any leaks.
  • Gently shake the bottle and watch as the 'raindrops' fall and swirl around.

Notes

Customize with different colors and textures for varied sensory experiences. Not recommended for essential oils due to inhalation risks for children. Use this as a calming tool during storytime or bedtime.
