Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup salt
  • 2 cups warm water

  • 1 cookie cutters or molds
  • 1 oven or air-drying setup
  • paint (optional) for decoration
  • ribbon or twine for hanging (optional)

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour and 1 cup of salt.
  • Gradually add 2 cups of warm water, stirring until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough for about 5-10 minutes until smooth and pliable.

Shaping

  • Roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thick with a rolling pin.
  • Use cookie cutters or molds to cut out shapes, making sure to create a small hole at the top for hanging.

Baking or Drying

  • Oven Method: Place the shapes on a baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 250°F (120°C) for 1-2 hours until hard.
  • Air Dry Method: Leave the ornaments in a dry place for 24-48 hours or until fully hardened.

Decoration

  • Once cooled, use paint or markers to decorate your ornaments.
  • Allow paint to dry completely before adding ribbon or twine.

Notes

For personalized touches, use seasonal cookie cutters and consider adding essential oils for scented ornaments. Store leftover dough tightly wrapped in the refrigerator for up to a week.
