  • Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4-inch thickness.
  • Use cookie cutters or molds to create various shapes.
  • For hanging ornaments, use a straw to poke a hole at the top.

Bake the Ornaments

  • Place the shaped ornaments on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake for 2-3 hours until hard and dry. They should feel sturdy to the touch.

Decorate

  • Once cool, paint or decorate your ornaments as desired.
  • Allow any paint or glue to dry completely.

Finish Up

  • Thread string or ribbon through the holes for hanging, if applicable.
  • Your salt dough ornaments are now ready to display or gift!
