Ingredients

Materials

  • 1 piece Teal foam (craft foam or thick felt) For the base structure.
  • 1 container Clear gel medium or glue Used for adhering beads and foam.
  • 1 cup Sea glass-like beads or glass pieces (in blue/green shades) For decoration.
  • 1 cup White sand (optional) To mimic a beach effect.
  • 1 small container Small container for mixing To mix gel medium and water.
  • 1 piece Craft knife or scissors For cutting foam.
  • 1 piece Paintbrush For applying gel medium.
  • 1 can Clear sealant (optional for extra shine) To seal the finished piece.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Clear your workspace and gather all materials.
  • Lay down newspaper or protective covering to keep the area clean.

Crafting

  • Use a craft knife or scissors to cut the teal foam into wave-like shapes. Vary the sizes for a more dynamic look.
  • In a small container, mix the clear gel medium with a little water if needed to thin it out. Aim for a consistency that’s easy to spread but not too runny.
  • Brush the gel medium evenly onto the top of the foam pieces, ensuring to cover the edges for a seamless finish.
  • Sprinkle the sea glass beads or pieces onto the glued areas and press gently to secure them, creating your desired look.
  • If using, apply a layer of white sand to mimic a beach effect. Mix sand with gel medium before applying for better adhesion.
  • Allow the piece to dry completely, following manufacturer’s instructions (typically a few hours).
  • Use a clear sealant for a glossy finish if desired. Reapply as necessary for extra durability.

Notes

Experiment with different color foams or glass pieces. Consider adding small seashells or driftwood for added coastal aesthetics.
