Ingredients
Materials Needed
- 10-15 pieces Seashells Natural and clean seashells.
- 3 tablespoons Borax powder Essential for the crystal effect.
- 1 cup Hot water Activates the Borax.
- 2-3 drops Food coloring (blue, purple, pink) Customize colors as desired.
- 1 tablespoon Glitter Adds sparkle to the seashells.
- 2 pieces Pipe cleaners For creating hangers.
- 1 piece String For hanging decorations.
- 1 piece Pencil For measurement and marking.
- 1 piece Glass jar To hold the water mixture.
Instructions
Preparation
- Fill a glass jar with hot water.
- Add 3 tablespoons of Borax powder.
- Mix until fully dissolved.
Add Color
- Choose your preferred food coloring (blue, purple, or pink) and add a few drops to the jar until you reach your desired color.
Prepare the Seashells
- Take the cleaned seashells and place them in the jar.
- Watch as the colors bloom and transform!
Add Glitter
- While the seashells are soaking, sprinkle a little glitter into the mixture for extra sparkle.
Let it Sit
- Leave the jar undisturbed for 24 hours and observe the crystals forming on seashells.
Finish Up
- Once ready, remove the seashells and let them dry.
- Use pipe cleaners to create hangers, threading them through the shells and attach string for easy display.
Notes
Customize colors by mixing different food colorings. You can swap seashells with stones or other decorative items. Use different glitters to vary the texture, with larger flakes creating a striking effect.
