Preparation

  • Lay down a cover or old newspaper to protect surfaces.
  • Gather all materials within reach.

Create the Cloud Base

  • Fill your clear container with a thick layer of white shaving cream.
  • Use a spoon to smooth it out and create a cloud-like shape.

Add Color to the Cloud

  • In a separate small bowl, mix a few drops of food coloring with water to create your rain mixture.
  • Using droppers or spoons, carefully drop the colored water onto the shaving cream surface.
  • Observe how the colors sit on top, resembling a cloud ready to burst.

Watch the Rain Fall

  • After a minute, watch closely as the colored water gradually seeps through the shaving cream.
  • Marvel at how the colors mix and flow down, mimicking rain!

Experiment with More Colors

  • Repeat the process with different colors of food coloring.
