Ingredients

  • 1 cup Cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup Water Adjust to achieve desired consistency

  • 1 piece Plastic sheet or tray For play

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Find a clean area, preferably with a plastic sheet to catch spills.
  • Gather all your materials and keep them within reach.

Mixing

  • In a mixing bowl, pour in 1 cup of cornstarch.
  • Use a spoon to break up any clumps, ensuring a smooth base.
  • Gradually add 1/2 cup of water to the cornstarch, stirring continuously to combine until fully mixed.

Coloring

  • If using food coloring, add a few drops to the mixture and mix well until the color is evenly distributed.

Testing Consistency

  • With your hands, test the mixture to ensure it feels gooey yet solid when squeezed but runny when slowly released.

Playing

  • Transfer the slippery quicksand to a plastic sheet or tray and let your creativity run wild as you mold and play with it.

Notes

Store in an airtight container to keep it fresh for up to a week. Supervise young children during play.
