Ingredients for Snow Foam

  • 1 cup baking soda Base ingredient for the foam.
  • 1/2 cup shaving cream (non-foaming) Ensure it is non-foaming for best texture.
  • 1 tbsp white glue (optional) For extra stickiness.
  • a few drops food coloring (optional) For adding color to the foam.

Materials Needed

  • 1 mixing bowl For combining ingredients.
  • 1 spoon or spatula To mix the ingredients.
  • 1 tray or sensory bin For setting up the play area.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of baking soda with 1/2 cup of shaving cream.
  • If desired, add 1 tablespoon of white glue to enhance the texture.

Color Addition

  • Add a few drops of food coloring to your mixture and fold it in until evenly distributed.

Mixing

  • Stir the ingredients together until they form a fluffy, cloud-like consistency.
  • If the mixture is too dry, add a tiny bit of shaving cream; if too wet, sprinkle in a little more baking soda.

Finalization

  • Check the texture, which should be soft and moldable, resembling snow.

Play Setup

  • Transfer the snow foam onto a tray or into a sensory bin.
  • Allow kids to explore and manipulate the foam, creating shapes or miniature snowmen.

Notes

Add essential oils or vanilla extract for scent, change colors with different combinations of food coloring, and use cookie cutters for fun shapes.
