Preparation

  • Find a clean area: Lay down a plastic tablecloth or newspaper to make cleanup easy.
  • Gather materials: Ensure you have everything you need within reach.

Mixing

  • In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of baking soda and ½ cup of dish soap.
  • Add water gradually: Stir with a whisk or spoon until you reach a fluffy consistency.
  • If desired, drop in a few drops of food coloring and mix thoroughly to achieve your preferred hue.

Adjusting Consistency

  • Test the texture: If the mixture is too dry, add more water a tablespoon at a time.
  • If it’s too wet, sprinkle in a bit more baking soda until it feels right.

Play Time

  • Transfer the snow foam: Place the mixture into a tray or sensory bin.
  • Encourage children to touch, mold, and play with the snow foam, noticing how it feels and how it changes with their movements.
