Snowflake Suncatcher

Ingredients
Materials
- 1 sheet Clear plastic or wax paper For the base of your suncatcher.
- 1 bottle White school glue or glue stick To outline your design.
- 1 pair Scissors For cutting out the snowflake.
- as needed tablespoon Glitter Optional, for decoration.
- as needed small pack Small beads Optional, for extra sparkle.
- 1 piece String or fishing line For hanging the suncatcher.
- 1 sheet Printed snowflake template Optional, for tracing designs.
Instructions
Preparation
- Gather all your materials on a clean workspace. Lay out your snowflake template if you’re using one.
Creating the Design
- If using a template, place it under clear plastic or wax paper. Using a pencil, trace the snowflake design. For a free-hand approach, draw your unique snowflake shape with a pencil.
- Use white glue to trace over your drawn lines to create a raised outline that will hold the glitter.
Adding Glitter
- While the glue is still wet, sprinkle glitter over the glue outline.
- Gently tap off any excess glitter, revealing a shimmering outline on your suncatcher.
Optional Decoration
- Add small beads around the snowflake for extra sparkle. Create mixed designs by layering different sizes or shapes.
Drying
- Allow your suncatcher to dry completely for at least a few hours or overnight for best results.
Cutting Out
- Once dry, carefully cut around your snowflake shape, leaving a small border of plastic or wax paper.
Hanging
- Punch a small hole at the top of your suncatcher and thread a string or fishing line for hanging.
Notes
Customize colors with colored glue or food coloring. Experiment with transparency using colored plastic wrap instead of wax paper. If you don’t have glitter, consider using colored sand or beads for decoration.
